We are onto project 3 of our project quest. The objective of this project was very similar to the ‘Around the Moon’ project, but this time we went “around the moon” in a different way. We are going to go in a “lollipop” shape . We are going to make the board, program our robot to go around the moon, and come back to earth. Here is a video showing what the objective of the project is (The one at 0:36 seconds is the one we did). Note: They are using a different robot
Making the Board
We made the board without any problems, and we were able to finish it in good time. We didn’t have a perfect board, but this one did fine. They used a special type of paper from a special type of printer that we didn’t have, so we did a makeshift board. Press this link if you want to make the same kind of board the did in the video.
Programming
We already built the robot, so all we need to do is program. Press this link if you want to make the same robot. Although our robot is different from the one in the video, it still worked. This one took way longer than expected.
To start off the list of problems with the program, we first have hitting the Moon. There were many times when we started the program, and it would hit the Moon instead of going around it. The next problem was not getting into the position of going back earth. Then, the robot kept going too far from the moon. these problems are pretty much the same as the ones in the first ‘Around the Moon’ project . Eventually, we go the robot to go around the moon, but it wouldn’t go into the position it needed to get back to Earth. Thankfully, we got over these problems.
Mission Succcsess!
We were able to go around the moon in a lollipop shape, and come back to earth! It took us two days to finish this, but we still got it done. Hooray, teamwork!
Conclusion
We made the board, we made a working program, and completed the project. It took a while, and some patience, but was fun! Let’s what else we can do!
